Application
Use Anti-SAP130 Antibody, clone 1YO 1B10 (Mouse Monoclonal Antibody) validated in WB, ICC to detect SAP130 also known as 130 kDa Sin3-associated polypeptide, SF3b130.
Immunocytochemistry Analysis: 1:500 dilution from a representative lot detected SAP130 in NIH/3T3 cells.
General description
SAP130, also known as Splicing factor 3B subunit 3, is part of the RNA splicing machinery. It is expressed by the Sf3b3 gene and encodes subunit 3 of the splicing factor 3b protein complex. As a component of this protein complex, it is associated with U2 snRNP and recruited to prespliceosomal complexes. Splicing factor 3b along with splicing factor 3a and a 12S RNA, form the U2 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein complex (U2 snRNP). In pre-mRNA’s, the splicing factor 3b/3a complex binds upstream of intron branch sites possibly anchoring the U2 snRNP to the pre-mRNA.
SAP130 is also a component of the STAGA (SPT3-TAF(II)31-GCN5L acetylase) transcription coactivator-HAT (histone acetyltransferase) complex, and the TFTC (TATA-binding-protein-free TAF(II)-containing complex). These complexes are believed to function in chromatin modification, transcription, splicing, and DNA repair.
